Hey everyone, let’s all pinky swear to not swoon over this elopement for too long. OK WHO AM I KIDDING. This wedding was what dreams are made of, and Disney movies for that matter. When Kristen told me that she and Zach had changed their venue last minute to the Indiana State House, I had no idea what to expect, and jokes on me because now I want to live there. The architecture of this building was only the most perfect backdrop for this dreamy, intimate elopement. Take a look at all these gorgeous details, emotional moments, and a match made in Harry Potter heaven.
Kristen’s dress was DEADLY GORGEOUS. Can you deal? She found it in the most obscure way and it couldn’t have been dreamier.
We are currently under 6+ inches of snow here in Indy, which hurts my soul (I know I live in the midwest, I am not a cold weather gal, lol), and we are prepping for another winter armageddon snowfest this weekend. That being said, I am gonna revisit one of my FAVE 2018 weddings for a little spring-spiration. That is a word, right?
This wedding was full of bohemian, spring magic. But honestly, the most magical part of it was how much Jenny and Andrew ADORE each other. I cannot emphasize this enough, I thought I was in a movie. Their love for each other is the sweetest I have ever seen. I am so grateful I got to document this day that was so personal, detailed, and simply beautiful. Let’s all pretend its spring together:
Jenny’s dress reminds me so much of that vintage Hollywood glam. She made it her own with touches of modern and boho details throughout the wedding. But THE DRESS. It was stunning.
I could seriously look at this floral arrangement forever. It is so incredible, I can’t believe it. Homegrown Florist is truly a floral magician.
I am so happy when there is a food truck. Most happy when it is a taco truck.
This groomsman look, I love the dark tie with floral pops.
Can you even handle this wedding arch? Homegrown Florist totally outdid herself, and the MACRAME. It is so perfect.
That freshly married “Is this happening? Did we do this thing?” excitement is my absolute favorite.
Jenny and Andrew are related to some INCREDIBLY talented humans, and his two brothers, plus some other really rad humans, were the live band at their reception. I love a fabulous live band, and this wedding did not disappoint. It was a PAR-TAY.
Still recovering from this amazing wedding in October. These are two of the raddest humans I have ever met, and I had SO much fun and laughed so much hanging with them and their amazing people all day long. And obviously my most fave sidekick Abbey who keeps me creative and makes me feel like a rockstar. This wedding was at the INSANELY cool Transept venue in OTR, downtown Cincinnati. I have such a special place for Cincy in my heart, from my years in school there, and my short time living there a couple years ago. And getting to document such an amazing couple on a perfect day in such a special city was BOMB. Check out their day and get a tissue, because you will be drooling. As a side note: THEY DID HAVE A FLAMING DONUT BAR FOR DESERT. It came with the venue, so, if you’re a donut fan, you know where to book your wedding, RIGHT.
Is it super weird to love being a third wheel on dates? Yeah? Ok cool, but I am not sorry about it. I am not sure I have the words to tell ya’ll how much I super adore these humans, because of who they are. Dave and Ade are some rare gems. They’re like, a powerhouse combo of creativity, depth, fun, hilarity and selflessness. I remember the first time I met Adrienne at my house, a party for a dear friend, Harry Potter party to be exact. And I loved her SO MUCH I was like, Am I cool enough to be her friend?” News flash: She is the most amazing human and thinks everyone is cool enough so NOW WE ARE TOTALLY GREAT FRIENDS.
This shoot was bomb dot com. It was a dream. We hung out, took some shots of Sambuca (y’all I didn’t know this was a thing), I made them a playlist that we danced our legs off to in Fountain Square, and I got a front row seat to how much two incredible humans adore each other. Date night photo shoots are my new gig, y’all. it was so much fun. All around.
Hey we used some smoke bombs. This was a first for everyone so we MIGHT have possibly not realized that they were hot as the seventh circle of hell and burned some appendages…worth it.
In case you wanted to know, Spotify: Dance Party. It was pretty rad.
See previous note on hand burning sacrifices…
Wish I could do this shoot all day every day. Who wants me as a third wheel for date night? KTHANKS.
