The first time I talked to Abigail on the phone, I instantly loved her. We spent an hour chatting about how her and Austin first met, how he was “the guy with the swoopy hair”, and how she finally realized she had feelings for him. The two of them have spent a lot of time apart, with Abigail currently stationed in Alaska. Their engagement session was like watching a rom-com. Abigail and Austin bringing laughter and life everywhere with them. I am unsure who was more excited for their wedding, me or them. When I asked her what she was most excited about, she replied “Everything. To finally be together and enjoy our loved ones.” Watching all of that love unfold on their day, knowing that their long-distance was FINALLY over, it was beautiful.

We all cozied up in her mom’s sitting room with coffee (not pictured, my new BFF’s the guinea pigs, whom I tried to force my love on). It was a perfect start for Abigail and Austin, full of love, so calm, so happy. I loved bearing witness to how much everyone loves them.

Austin and Abigail’s love for each other is so sincere. The minute I met them, I could see how deep it runs. They respect each other, they have fun together, and they are the best of friends. Their lives together so far have brought so many good things into the world. Spending one on one time with them after the wedding, letting them relish in the day, in the start of their new journey, it fills me with so much hope. Good and beautiful things are worth celebrating, and celebrating them was an honor.
